Growth and Change at The Hunger Project Canada

The Hunger Project Canada (THPC) is pleased to welcome Danielle Paydli and Matt Bunch as our new Country Co-Directors as we move forward into 2023. Danielle and Matt join us to bring THPC into a new era of growth and change.

As part of our effort to engage with our supporters and partners abroad, The Hunger Project Canada was pleased to welcome Consolata Dassah, National Programs Officer for THP Ghana, in an Open Call with our outgoing Country Director, April Burrows. April has been with the Hunger Project Canada for several years and is  responsible for much of our success and growth. April continues her work with THPC in new capacities, and we look forward to working with and learning from her.

Consolata provided a real-time picture of how The Hunger Project initiatives are making a difference for women and men in rural Ghana. The Hunger Project employs an “epicenter project” model where rural communities are able to come together to share resources and knowledge as they work to improve agricultural practices and food security locally and regionally. Consolata shared that the efforts of the Hunger Project and partner communities have a positive and lasting impact, but there is much work to be done.

The Hunger Project Canada has enjoyed both success in projects with partner countries, and the support of Canadians from coast to coast. This support allows us to have a meaningful and lasting impact for communities and families in Africa, Latin America and South Asia. Our work on the ground is led by women and driven by communities where the work is conducted in partnership with local governments. The Hunger Project Canada and our global family are making a difference, but the work continues as issues of climate change, conflict and food insecurity impact the lives of people across the globe.

As we move into 2023, we anticipate more successes and a growing impact under the leadership of Danielle and Matt, and we welcome your continued support. This December, we are asking our donors (we call them investors) to keep in mind our impactful work as we look forward to 2023 and beyond.
